In this workshop we will learn how picture books can serve as valuable tools to talk with children and adolescents about the topics of dying, death and grief. By using stories and images we create a safe space for dialogue and foster understanding as well as engagement with these sensitive topics. It is advisable to address these subjects before a serious case occurs in order to create an open and understanding conversational climate. We explore different approaches to how picture books can be used to talk about these important issues in a relaxed way. The workshop offers space for exchange and practical exercises so that participants can go home with new approaches.
