Family workshop «The Fortress is Besieged!»

Attack and defense on the medieval castle: In this family workshop we operate the catapult and you will learn interesting facts about sieges in the Middle Ages.

How did people attack a castle in the Middle Ages? And how did they defend it? In this family workshop participants will learn what the castle's inhabitants had to expect in case of a siege and how they could defend themselves. Some devices and techniques can be tried out by the participants themselves. As a highlight, the medieval trebuchet master will operate the catapult to bombard the fortress walls.

For families with children aged 8 and up.

Please indicate the exact number of people when making the reservation, including accompanying persons and children under 6. Tickets (museum admission plus CHF 5.– per person) must be collected at the reception no later than 20 minutes before the event starts; otherwise they will be released. Capacity is limited to 25 people.
