Family workshop «Wondrous Threads and Magic Shuttles»

Spinning and weaving as in the past: in this family workshop, participants can try it out for themselves.

In the fairy tale it's simple: the golden thread of the wonder spindle draws the king in, and the weaving shuttle magically weaves a fabric for him.

But how did people actually spin and weave in the past, and what fabrics did they wear?

In this family program for young and old we follow a fairy tale, learn interesting facts about textile production, and try spinning and weaving ourselves.

For families with children aged 6 and up.

Tickets (museum admission plus CHF 5.– per person) must be collected at the reception no later than 20 minutes before the event starts; otherwise they will be released. Places are limited to 20 people.
