Visiting the Goldsmith

Where does the gold on our ring finger come from? On this special guided tour you will receive an introduction to the new exhibition «Goldrichtig» and visit Burgdorf goldsmith Simone Aebersold in her workshop — and get hands-on yourself.

In the exhibition you will learn where the gold comes from, how it is mined and what problems this causes for people and the environment. We present exciting new possibilities for how gold extraction can be made more sustainable and socially responsible.

Afterwards you will visit Simone Aebersold’s goldsmith workshop in Burgdorf’s upper town. You will gain an insight into everything a goldsmith must do before a ring fits perfectly on the finger, have the opportunity to put your skills to the test at the workbench and take a keepsake home.

This event is suitable for adults and children aged 8 and up, accompanied by their guardians.

Places are limited to 12 people. Advance registration is mandatory.
