Observatory Visit for Children

How many stars are there in the sky? Who is the man in the moon? And what does Saturn look like with its rings? Exciting questions like these are answered in a child-friendly way on the Gurten. With a telescope, fascinating celestial events can be observed directly – a real adventure for the whole family.

From November to March a special astronomy program is offered that is specifically tailored to children. Under the guidance of Astro Events, stars, planets and other celestial bodies are explained in a playful manner. In addition, there are creative craft stations where young astronomers can design their own space objects and take them home.

The events take place in the winter months, since dusk falls early enough then to hold the programs at child-friendly times. The knowledge of the astro experts fascinates not only the little ones – adults also fully enjoy it.
